David Rodgers Scholarship Fund
David Rodgers has been sharing his love of music with students in Indiana for 34 years. He received his Bachelor of Music Education Degree if from the Indiana University Jacob School of Music in Bloomington and a Masters of Music Education Degree from Butler University in Indianapolis.
David taught at Columbus East High School for 23 years with 15 of those years also teaching at Central Middle School. Every one of those summers he also taught summer band for elementary and middle school students. He led the Olympian Spirit Marching Band at Columbus East and co-led the combined Sound and Spirit of Columbus Marching Band in 2022.
Music is his passion, and it provided him so much joy! So much so that he wanted to ensure that all his students not only appreciate all the various styles and types of music, artists, and composers, but also that they knew how to play their instruments and could read music.
The David Rodgers Scholarship Fund has been established by the Columbus East Band Boosters to assist all East band students in their high school music career to aid in program financial obligations, private lessons, or contest fees. We want to make sure that all music opportunities will be open to all our East families.
